Quiet Hope: How God Holds You in the In-Between

In between Season

There’s a kind of tired that doesn’t come from doing too much.

It comes from waiting.

From wondering.

From living in the space between what was and what you prayed would be.

You’re not falling apart… but you’re not fully okay either.

You’re showing up.

Doing your best.

Trying to stay faithful.

But some days you whisper what you don’t say out loud:

“God… when is my turn?”

If that’s you, I want to remind you of something gentle and true:

Quiet seasons are not empty seasons.

They are often the seasons where God is holding you the closest.

The in-between can feel like silence… but it’s often shelter

The in-between doesn’t come with clear announcements.

No applause.

No big “breakthrough” moment.

No instant answers.

Just… life.

And yet, this is where so many women quietly lose hope—not because they stopped believing in God… but because they stopped believing anything good could happen for them.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

Sometimes God doesn’t rush you forward because He’s punishing you.

Sometimes He slows you down because He’s protecting you.

Because not everything you want is ready for your healing.

And not every door that opens is a door you should walk through.

Quiet hope is different than hype

Hype says: “Everything is about to change!”

Quiet hope says: “God is still with me… even if nothing looks different yet.”

Quiet hope is not loud. It’s steady.

It looks like:

  • choosing peace over pressure

  • resting when your body asks for it

  • praying simple prayers when your words are tired

  • staying consistent without needing constant validation

  • being honest with God instead of pretending you’re fine

Quiet hope is how you keep living when you don’t have clarity.

What if the delay is actually formation?

Some of the strongest women I know are in hidden seasons.

They’re not on a stage.

They’re not being celebrated.

They’re just… surviving.

But those “hidden” seasons are often the place where God is rebuilding the part of you that people never see.

Your nervous system.

Your boundaries.

Your discernment.

Your ability to say “no.”

Your willingness to stop carrying life alone.

Because when you’ve lived through enough, you learn this:

You don’t need a faster life.

You need a wiser one.

And wisdom often comes in the slow seasons.

When hope feels far away, try this

Don’t pressure yourself to “feel hopeful.”

Instead, practice one hopeful action.

Just one.

  • Open the curtains and let light in

  • Take a five-minute walk

  • Put worship on while you wash dishes

  • Write one honest prayer in your notes app

  • Drink water and eat something nourishing

  • Text one safe person: “Today feels heavy. Can you pray for me?”

You don’t have to do everything.

You just have to take the next step God gives you.

Small hope still counts.

3-Minute Reset

Breathe in slowly…

Hold…

Release.

Again…

In…Hold…

Release.

Now whisper:

“God, meet me here.”

Pause.

Then:

“I don’t need all the answers.

I need Your presence.”

And one more:

“Teach me to hope in quiet ways.”

Amen.

Sis, you’re not alone

If you’re in the in-between right now, please remember:

You are not forgotten.

You are not behind.

You are not disqualified.

You’re being strengthened in places you’ll thank God for later.

And one day, you’ll look back and realize the season that felt like silence…

…was the season God taught you how to stand.

Sis, you’re not alone.

If this spoke to you, share it with a woman who needs quiet hope today.
