Title: You Don't Suck. You Just Need Systems

Today I had one goal: walk 5,000 steps. I made it to 2,900. The old me would’ve called that a failure. I even joked, “I suck. I failed. "But something shifted.
The Florida heat is no joke — and without a system to beat the weather (like walking earlier), my goal didn’t stand a chance. That’s when it hit me: this isn’t about goals. It’s about systems.
I’m reminded of James Clear’s Atomic Habits, where he says,
"You don’t rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems."
It’s not just about walking. Years ago, I had a goal to become an author. I even wrote my first book in 2022, just weeks before my mother passed away. But I had no system to publish, promote, or persevere. It flopped — not even my siblings bought it. (And no shade — it really wasn’t ready.)
But I kept stepping. Now, I’ve released Weeping Her Way to Wholeness, and it’s on its way to the bestseller list. Not because I dreamed harder — but because I built systems.
Back to the 2,900 steps: I didn’t fail. I started. And if you’re reading this? You can start too.
Takeaway: Goals are dreams with deadlines. Systems are the bridges to get there.
Action Step: What’s one system you can put in place today to support your goal?
Love,
Truly
