Leading While Broken: When the Money’s on the Table but Your Soul Feels Empty

I had a dollar to myself.

Money on the table. Friends waving goodbye. A face full of emotions I couldn’t explain — joy, sorrow, surrender — all dancing across my features like clouds moving across the sky.

I was dancing. Not because everything was okay. But because it wasn’t — and I had finally stopped pretending.

I recorded that video on a day when I felt like I had nothing left.

I had lost things I couldn’t post about. I smiled in public but grieved in silence. I led meetings, hosted conversations, showed up for others… all while falling apart inside.

The hymn book in the frame? It wasn’t just a prop. It was a reminder that even when your pages are torn and your songs are silenced — God still sees worship in your wreckage.

For professional women, this is the part we don’t talk about.

We strategize. We deliver. We inspire. But we rarely admit when we’re barely holding on. We wear strength like a brand — until our souls can’t carry the weight anymore.

But here’s the truth no résumé will ever tell you: Healing is leadership work. Wholeness is a calling. God is not impressed by your performance. He’s drawn to your surrender.

That’s the moment the book was born.

Weeping Her Way to Wholeness wasn’t written from a place of victory. It was written while I was still bleeding — still dancing around the pain, still searching the clouds for answers, still praying over the broken pages of my life.

And somehow, in that mess, God moved.

So if you're down to your last dollar — in your pocket, your energy, or your faith — hear me:

You are still worthy. You are still chosen. You are still His.

And this moment, painful as it feels, may be the beginning of your own wholeness.
